Here is an easy one Or is there a better option out there My tranny gasket was about gone so i replaced it
I dropped the pan, changed the filter and gasket and then replaced the pan I'm considering the hughes, tci, and b&m kits I put four qaurts dextron/mercron iii tranny fluid into it
Started motor, let it get hot, shifted through all gears and checked the fluid level.
The tranny is marked as I have a '67 chevelle coupe I am running a 350 with about 375 hp I am getting ready to install a new th350 tranny and 2200 stall torque converter
I plan up upgrading the stock radiator to an aluminum aftermarket (like be cool or griffin) Do i need a trans cooler If so, where do you. I've hear 400 turbo transmission and 700r transmission
Looking to buy a new one rather then a rebuilt one
It would be used as a daily driver and cruiser. I have a b&m 400 trans in my car It was from another project and has about 200 miles on it After 15 years i have it in my car
It is pretty much empty How much fluid does it hold And how much should i put in for start up. This tranny is about 1 1/2 years old and probably doesn't have 1500 miles on the rebuild
It is an '89 model
I had it completely gone thru with the typical extra clutch packs, corvette servo, new reaction shield (?) and a transgo shift kit, etc It was built by the highest regarded. Last time i left the transmission in the car, which was a little difficult to line up with the transmission (oilpan clearing the crossmember and flexplate clearing the bellhousing) But i was able to leave the driveshaft, cooler lines, shifter cable all attached, loosened the trans mount and placed a jack under the trans (with wood blocking to spread the load).i have a plastic transmission.
My th350 tranny cooler lines are old and one of them has a kink in it I was considering ripping out all the old steel line and running braided tranny lines with an fittings Just curious what a good size of braided line to run would be and what size an fittings would i need that would screw. I haven't done a tranny yet today so i'm foggy on the bolts but i damsure remember that there is a metric mess that can happen to you
An american bolt will go right in but feels sloppy.
I'm about 2 weeks away from dropping a 500hp 454 in my '70 elky and i have concerns about the tranny holding up under the new power plant Is a rebuild in order Which kit is the best
